We will create our own breast cancer awareness walk.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite Graham\u2019s initial apprehension, Campagna\u2019s experience with developing similar events along with their shared passion, quickly turned any concerns into excitement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The two women met at Nana\u2019s Irish Pub, a favorite of theirs in Nye Beach. proudly celebrates being cancer-free.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"entry-content shs-block column\">\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sonia Graham Is Stronger, More Confident &amp; Crushing Cancer!<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cYou have cancer, cancer doesn\u2019t have you!\u201d are but a few words of advice Sonia Graham, 55, of Newport, has for those touched by cancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"555\" height=\"390\" src=\"https:\/\/samhealth.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/pt-sonia-warrior-strong-SP.jpg\" 2020 with clinical stage 2 left breast cancer, an invasive lobular cancer that had metastasized to the lymph node at the time of diagnosis, Graham went through the full gamut of treatment, including 16 rounds of chemotherapy to help shrink the tumor, followed by a lumpectomy and then a complete lymph node dissection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When cancer was still detected during a follow-up biopsy, radiation therapy \u2014 33 rounds \u2014 was the next recommended course of treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Living in Depoe Bay at the time and not eager to make the daily drive to the Samaritan Pastega Regional Cancer Center in Corvallis, Graham opted to stay at the Mario Pastega House during her radiation therapy treatments \u2014 a resource she heard about from her social worker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, Graham is now well into remission and approaching two years of survivorship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grateful for her husband Jim of 30 years, network of friends, cancer treatment options and care team, Graham shares her outlook on life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis experience changed me,\u201d said Graham. \u201cI am more confident, willing to take chances and just feel like
