{"id":71247,"date":"2026-04-27T16:01:54","date_gmt":"2026-04-27T23:01:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/samhealth.org\/?p=71247"},"modified":"2026-04-27T16:01:58","modified_gmt":"2026-04-27T23:01:58","slug":"community-update-labor-delivery-lebanon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/samhealth.org\/news\/community-update-labor-delivery-lebanon\/","title":{"rendered":"Open Letter to the Community: Return of Labor &amp; Delivery Services in Lebanon"},"content":{"rendered":"<article class=\"article\">\n\t<header class=\"header\">\n\t\t<span class=\"type\"><\/span>\t\t<h1>Open Letter to the Community: Return of Labor &amp; Delivery Services in Lebanon<\/h1>\t\t<time>April 27, 2026<\/time>\n\t<\/header>\n\t<div id=\"block_6e5fca8bf2716eb8238df3f575915b65\" class=\"shs-block block-news-article entry-content\">\n\t\t<div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"acf-innerblocks-container\">\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Samaritan CEO Marty Cahill Shares Update &amp; Welcomes Families Back<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To our community,&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I want to share an important update about labor and delivery services in Lebanon and to do so directly.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/samhealth.org\/health-services\/all-services\/obgyn\/girod-birth-center-slch\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"10437\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Girod Birth Center<\/a> at <a href=\"https:\/\/samhealth.org\/find-a-location\/samaritan-lebanon-community-hospital\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"location\" data-id=\"5204\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital<\/a> reopened on Monday, April 27. OB-GYN services at Samaritan Health Clinic \u2013 Lebanon have also resumed.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We now have&nbsp;the clinical&nbsp;support in place to safely care for patients, and&nbsp;we\u2019ll&nbsp;continue building this team to meet the long-term needs of the community.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I also want to acknowledge what the past few months have been like.&nbsp;Pausing these services was not an easy decision, and I know it created uncertainty and frustration for many families.&nbsp;We heard that, and we understand how important it is to have care close to home, especially for something as personal as bringing a child into the world.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We took the time to make sure we could safely reopen and do this the right way. That meant careful planning, coordination across our&nbsp;system&nbsp;and a strong focus on patient safety at every step.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the pause, teams across the valley region worked together to ensure families&nbsp;continued to receive care. At the same time, our Lebanon team stayed focused on preparing for a safe return.
