High school seniors, undergraduate students and graduate students who are currently enrolled in, or accepted to, an appropriate program are encouraged to apply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The scholarship is named in honor of <a href=\"https:\/\/samhealth.org\/news\/good-samaritan-hospital-in-corvallis-celebrates-75-years-virginia-welch\/\">Virginia Welch<\/a>, a head nurse who became Good Samaritan&#8217;s administrator in 1951 and served until 1967. Since 1999, more than $320,000 in scholarships have been awarded to students pursuing a career in health care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Application Deadline: Friday, April 10<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To apply, complete and print <a href=\"\/\/samhealth.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/GCMRC-Virginia-Welch-Scholarship-Application-Packet.pdf\">the application packet<\/a> in its entirety. Applications must be received or postmarked by <strong>April 10, 2026<\/strong>. It is the responsibility of the applicant to submit a complete application on time.
