{"id":40625,"date":"2024-03-21T16:38:55","date_gmt":"2024-03-21T23:38:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/samhealth.org\/?p=40625"},"modified":"2026-02-06T13:37:17","modified_gmt":"2026-02-06T21:37:17","slug":"lincoln-city-hospital-celebrates-two-employees-of-the-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/samhealth.org\/news\/lincoln-city-hospital-celebrates-two-employees-of-the-year\/","title":{"rendered":"Lincoln City Hospital Celebrates Two Employees of the Year"},"content":{"rendered":"<article class=\"article\">\n\t<header class=\"header\">\n\t\t<span class=\"type\"><\/span>\t\t<h1>Lincoln City Hospital Celebrates Two Employees of the Year<\/h1>\t\t<time>March 21, 2024<\/time>\n\t<\/header>\n\t<div id=\"block_d8cce9885894dd840645ddb56f6e33f2\" class=\"shs-block block-news-article entry-content\">\n\t\t<div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"acf-innerblocks-container\">\n\n<p>Staff who gathered for the Employee of the Year announcement this week in the dining room at Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital were surprised when two winners were announced \u2013 Colleen Getty, clinics medical assistant, and Kelsey Lovejoy, CT special imaging tech.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This was the first time two recipients were selected for the hospital\u2019s top honor. Each one received a blown glass float created with the Samaritan colors of blue and gold, a framed certificate of appreciation and a generous monetary gift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Those who were selected as Employee of the Month throughout 2023 were in the running for Employee of the Year, with voting open to all Samaritan hospital and clinic employees in North Lincoln County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the surprise presentation on Tuesday, March 19, hospital CEO Lesley Ogden, MD, and COO Virginia Riffle created a bit of humor, pretending to disagree about who should announce the winner. Usually, it is Dr. Ogden, but Riffle argued that because she is retiring in April, she should be the one to make the announcement. They amicably agreed to give two awards so they each could present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In actuality, there was a tie vote that resulted in two winners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About the Winners<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Kelsey Lovejoy <\/strong>was hired in August 2006 as a radiologic tech and was promoted to her current position of CT special imaging tech in October 2014. She was named Employee of the Month in June, with several nominations in praise of her positive attitude, excellent interactions with patients and her enthusiastic promotion of the hospital as being an excellent employer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Colleen Getty <\/strong>was hired in September 2020 as a medical office receptionist at Samaritan Coastal Clinic. A few months later, she started a medical assistant apprenticeship, becoming a certified medical assistant\/registered medical assistant in December 2022. She is a \u201cspecialty float\u201d which means she is willing and able to work when and where assistance is needed at the clinics, including general surgery, orthopedics, podiatry and women\u2019s health.
