He assists with orthopedic surgery and orthopedic oncology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He earned a bachelor\u2019s degree at Castleton University and a master\u2019s in physician assistant studies at Westfield State University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before becoming a physician assistant, he worked as an EMT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI realized that I wanted to provide a higher level of care to my community and be able to create positive experiences for people who need health care,\u201d he said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He chose Samaritan because it aligns with his values and goals as a provider.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cA positive health care environment creates a better place for patients and better outcomes,\u201d he said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rafus and his fianc\u00e9 moved to Oregon to be near family.
