I was walking the halls of the hospital that same day.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Burns\u2019 had a gastric bypass procedure through<a href=\"https:\/\/samhealth.org\/find-a-location\/samaritan-weight-management-institute\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> Samaritan Weight Management Institute\u2019s<\/a>&nbsp;surgical weight loss program. The surgery was performed using the&nbsp;da Vinci surgical robot at <a href=\"https:\/\/samhealth.org\/find-a-location\/good-samaritan-regional-medical-center\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center<\/a>. The hospital, which has had a da Vinci robot since 2010, recently upgraded to a da Vinci Xi with an E\u2011100 generator, which offers more technology to benefit the patient and health care team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/samhealth.org\/find-a-location\/good-samaritan-regional-medical-center\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Good Samaritan<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/samhealth.org\/find-a-location\/samaritan-albany-general-hospital\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Samaritan Albany General Hospital<\/a> are the only hospitals in the Willamette Valley with this level of surgical robotic technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The da Vinci surgical system allows for finer, more precise movements and smaller incisions. It reduces complications and risk of bleeding, resulting in a much shorter hospital stay.
