Reference can include friends, teachers\/professors, work associates&#8230;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Complete a criminal background check.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age to participate.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications will be considered&nbsp;<strong>only after your completed application items are received&nbsp;<\/strong>by Volunteer Services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-interview-amp-next-steps\">Interview &amp; Next Steps<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Volunteers are placed based on skills and available positions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After completing the initial steps, you will be invited to an interview with Volunteer Services. You will receive volunteer information and review service descriptions and schedules. We will review your skills and interests to determine an appropriate placement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Once a volunteer assignment has been determined,&nbsp;<\/strong>you will receive a packet of information which includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Required training.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Medical forms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-last-steps\">Last Steps<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You will also have your picture taken for an identification badge.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will be provided with&nbsp;<strong>mandatory&nbsp;<\/strong>general and volunteer orientation education.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will be required to complete a Volunteer Medical Information form and meet immunization\/test requirements with the Employee Health Department.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After completing the mandatory general and volunteer orientation requirements and receiving clearance by the Employee Health Department, you will contact your area of service to be trained.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Additional Requirements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Volunteers must make a minimum commitment of six months.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Typically, individuals volunteer once per week for 2 to 4 hours.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<\/div>\n\t<\/section>\n\n\n\n<section id=\"block_932421c8515d09dc371d9b08a8da8568\" class=\"shs-block block-section grid-container has-white-background-color\" >\n\t\t<div class=\"entry-content\">\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-frequently-asked-questions-about-volunteering-at-samaritan\">Frequently Asked Questions About Volunteering at Samaritan<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div id=\"block_088d2bd9d7d10e49e75cd91866ea510d\" class=\"shs-block accordion\">\n\t<h3 class=\"accordion-title\">\n\t\t<button\n\t\t\ttype=\"button\"\n\t\t\tid=\"accordion_title_69f1d60471a482.46292159\"\n\t\t\tclass=\"accordion-control\" aria-expanded=\"false\"\n\t\t\taria-controls=\"accordion_panel_69f1d60471a4e7.45491258\">May I Volunteer for More Than One Service? <span class=\"iconfont-chevron-right\"><\/span><\/button>\n\t<\/h3>\n\t<section\n\t\tid=\"accordion_panel_69f1d60471a4e7.45491258\"\n\t\tclass=\"accordion-panel\"\n\t\taria-labelledby=\"accordion_title_69f1d60471a482.46292159\" style=\"height:0\">\n\t\t<div class=\"entry-content\">\n\n<p>Yes. Once you have completed training for one service, you are welcome to begin training in another service. The basic dress code requires conservative, business-like attire. Examples of clothing that cannot be worn include: baseball caps, tee shirts, tube tops, shorts, see-through, provocative or revealing clothing, stirrup pants and spandex.
