Designated a Level-II Trauma Center, the flagship hospital is home to a robotic-assisted surgery epicenter, heart and vascular institute, comprehensive cancer center (collaboration with Stanford University) and an accredited weight management and metabolic surgery Institute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Residents receive training in general surgery, emergency medicine, anesthesia, plastic surgery, medical intensive care, trauma and acute care, bariatrics, vascular, HPB, transplant, burn and pediatric surgery. To further round out the surgical experience, our residents also rotate at Providence Portland Medical Center, Legacy Emanuel Medical Center and OHSU in Portland. Special-interest and research electives are also available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The program is fully accredited through ACGME.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\t<\/section>\n\n\n\n<section id=\"Curriculum\" class=\"shs-block block-section grid-container has-blue-midnight-background-color\" >\n\t\t<div class=\"entry-content\">\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">Curriculum &amp; Didactics<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Samaritan\u2019s General Surgery Resident Program offers a comprehensive curriculum with hands-on experience. In the winter, you can enjoy a day or weekend ski trip to one of several ski areas in the Oregon Cascades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Corvallis also has a great variety of food options ranging from French pastries in the morning to late-night burritos, as well as several breweries, wineries and a local cider house. We even have a Farmer\u2019s Market on Saturday with lots of local produce, farm-raised meats and bakeries selling fresh breads and treats that you can enjoy in one of the surrounding parks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Corvallis is also home to the Oregon State Beavers and we&nbsp;have the opportunity to&nbsp;go to various Pac-12 sporting events.
