As our initial class size was three, we have gradually increased our class size to nine residents per year. We became fully ACGME accredited in 2018 and now graduate both MD and DO residents. Many of our graduates choose to practice in the Willamette Valley or stay within the Pacific Northwest after residency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Our Mission<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We prioritize community in all that we do. Through a rigorous and supportive learning environment, our family medicine residents are valued as colleagues and individual learners. We focus on training full spectrum physicians who can be leaders in their communities and understand population health, run an inter-disciplinary team, all while providing excellent care to their patients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Our Vision<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To be recognized as a training program committed to excellence in \u201ccommunity medicine,\u201d and whose residents thrive and feel at home in Corvallis, Oregon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Our How<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We aim to recruit and mentor residents who are curious, growth minded and motivated as they develop the skills and knowledge necessary to take care of diverse patients across the lifespan. We value authenticity, curiosity and hard work, and we work hard to create an environment that balances challenge with support. The more authentic and open you are, the easier it is for you to hold onto the values that brought you into medicine and to take ownership of your growth. Every resident\u2019s journey is different, so we\u2019ve built flexibility into our culture and curriculum to support your unique strengths, struggles and aspirations. Samaritan RTP residents spend their first year in Corvallis before moving to Newport for the remainder of their training. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\t<\/section>\n\n\n\n<section id=\"block_3f79935c91c417ee28e25b03776d5086\" class=\"shs-block block-section grid-container has-white-background-color\" >\n\t\t<div class=\"entry-content\">\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sponsoring Institutions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Samaritan&#8217;s Graduate Medical Education program positions graduates well to excel as physicians.
